DeustoTech at 4th Plenary Meeting in Weiz for the GreenSoul Project

MORElab members Dr. Diego Casado-Mansilla and Dr. Diego López-de-Ipiña, together with DeustoTech-ENERGY colleague Dr. Cruz Borges have attended to GreenSoul’s 4th Plenary Meeting in Weiz, Austria from 8 to 10 March 2017. In such meeting, the first prototypes of GreenSoul-ed Things, i.e. devices which complement existing electrical appliances in order to monitor their energy consumption and assist their user’s in better usage – better behaviour from an energy consumption standpoint. Among others, MORElab’s smart power strip was presented by Dr. Diego Casado-Mansilla which will be deployed in the following months during the execution of the first pre-pilot to be held at DeustoTech’s installations.
Several pending issues were addressed regarding the instrumentation of pilots that will be take place in the project. It was clarified how pilots instrumented with Smart Meters and GreenSoul-ed Things will report their data to the GIM (Global Information Model) knowledge store where analytics will be applied in order to recommend better usage of electric powered devices in a building, e.g. HVAC, lighting, computers and so on.
