Dr. Diego López-de-Ipiña was invited to the AAL Forum 2014 (http://www.aalforum.eu/) to give the talk entitled “Towards Ambient Assisted Cities and Citizens” (http://es.slideshare.net/dipina/towards-ambient-assisted-cities-and-citizens), within the “B4 Smart Cities and AAL” session, on Thursday 11 September 2014.  The talk discussed how Smarter Cities will only be possible whenever truly participative, accessible and inclusive services are widely deployed in such cities. The concept of Ambient Assisted Cities was explained and previous research contributions from the MORElab research group in the areas of adaptive user interfaces (DYNUI project), apps for Blind people shopping in supermarkets (Bling Shopping project) and the ongoing work on contributing towards more user participated cities through urban apps (IES Cities project) were presented.
