MORElab participated in the 16th International Conference on Ubiquitous Computing & Ambient Intelligence (UCAmI 2024)

MORElab members Diego López-de-Ipiña and Oihane Gómez-Carmona participated in the 16th International Conference on Ubiquitous Computing and Ambient Intelligence UCAmI 2024, held in Belfast, United Kingdom, from November 27th to December 29sd 2022.
The focus of the UCAmI Conference is Ambient Intelligence (AmI) which represents a new generation of user-centered computing environments and systems to find new ways to obtain a better integration of the information technology in everyday life devices and activities.
Diego López-de-Ipiña presented the work “Towards the Democratization of Citizen Science Campaigns for Air Quality Assessment”, that explores the SOCIO-BEE initiative, which aims to empower citizens through democratized air quality monitoring, employing a multi-role co-creation methodology involving diverse community roles and tools to encourage engagement, data collection, and behavioral change.
Oihane Gómez-Carmona presented “Tailoring Digital Middleware for Rural Needs: Insights from User Feedback Analysis” that emphasizes user feedback and user-centered design to overcome barriers and enhance usability in middleware technologies like the one proposed by the AURORAL project for digitalizing rural areas.
