On 31st August 2016, Dr. Diego López-de-Ipiña gave a 3 hour lecture entitled “Towards Ambient Assisted Cities: Smarter, more Sustainable, Collaborative and Inclusive Cities”, within the summer course “Smart Environments to improve health, wellbeing and foster autonomy” (http://cursosdeverano.unia.es/item/ambientes-inteligentes-para-mejorar-la-salud-el-bienestar-y-potenciar-la-autonomia.html), celebrated in Campus Antonio Machado – Baeza, Jaén, Spain.
This course was organized by International University of Andalusia (UNIA) (http://www.unia.es/). The lecture, available at http://www.slideshare.net/dipina/hacia-las-ambient-assisted-cities-ciudades-ms-inteligentes-sostenibles-colaborativas-competitivas-e-inclusivas, explained how to address the global urbanisation and society ageing challenges through the smart combination of advances in the Internet of Things, Web of Data and Crowdsourcing research domains. The lecture concluded giving some examples of tools to be used to tackle the Broad Data Analytics challenge in urban environments and the illustration of several Smart Cities related H2020 projects where MORElab research unit is working.
