On 16^th September Dr. Diego López-de-Ipiña visited Halmstad University, Sweden, where he gave the talk entitled “Towards Smarter Inclusive Cities: Internet of Things, Web of Data & Citizen Participation as Enablers”. This talk described the research challenges associated to the heterogeneous data provided by sensors and people through apps running in their Smartphone. The potential brought forward from the combination of structured validated datasets coming from Open Data repositories and less structured social or app-mediated user-generated data was described. Providing these datasets are properly integrated progress towards better Urban Knowledge, i.e. urban processes understanding, can be achieved.
