4th Simpatico General Assembly in Santiago de Compostela

On the 6th and 7th of February, the Deustotech-Internet team represented by Unai Lopez, Diego López-de-Ipiña, Iván Pretel and Enrique Sanz attended the 4rd plenary meeting of the Simpatico project in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. The achieved goals were presented and component demos analysed. Furthermore, the consortium invited the three associations involved in the GALICIA pilot: ATEGAL, FEGAUS and COGAMI. Special thanks to Xunta and them for their great engagement and contributions.

Simpatico General Assembly in Palermo Italy

On the 4th, 6th and 7th of October, the Deustotech-Internet team represented by Unai Lopez, Iván Pretel and Diego López-de-Ipiña attended the 3rd plenary meeting of the Simpatico project (http://www.simpatico-project.eu/) in Palermo, Italy. The meeting was held at the Engineering offices. The integration among all the components of the project was discussed, the achieved goals presented and the organisation for future activities consolidated. Phase 2, we are ready!

Kick-off meeting for the SIMPATICO project in Trento

On the 8th and 9th of March, the Deustotech-Internet team represented by Iván Pretel, Unai Lopez and Diego López-de-Ipiña attended the kick-off meeting of the SIMPATICO project in Trento, Italy. The meeting was organized in the headquarters of FBK (Fondazione Bruno Kessler). The discussions focused on the organization of the work packages and the deployments in Trento, Sheffield and Galicia.

MORElab participated in the 9th International Conference on Ubiquitous Computing & Ambient Intelligence (UCAmI 2015)

MORElab members Diego López-de-Ipiña and Ivan Pretel participated in the 9th International Conference on Ubiquitous Computing & Ambient Intelligence (UCAmI 2015) held in Puerto Varas, Patagonia, Chile from 1st to 4th December, 2015.

The main focus of this edition of the UCAmI Conference was "Ambient Intelligence: Sensing, Processing and Using Environmental Information". Where Diego presented the paper entitled "Collaboration-centred Cities through Urban Apps based on Open and User-generated Data". Ivan presented the paper entitled "Facing up social activity recognition using smartphone sensors".

Iván Pretel, the new MORElab's PhD

On November 10th, 2015, MORElab's member Iván Pretel has been honored with the PhD recognition. His dissertation, entitled "Metodología basada en la experiencia para la mejora de la eficiencia de la evaluación de la usabilidad de aplicaciones móviles" was advisored by Dr. Ana Belén Lago.
