Xabier Eguiluz, the new MORELab's PhD

On January 21st, 2016, MORElab's member Xabier Eguiluz has been honored with the PhD recognition. His dissertation, entitled "Metodología de sintonización de transductores basados en vibración para la mejora de la eficiencia energética en sistemas Energy Harvesting" was advisored by Dr. Jon Legarda Macón and Dra. María Loreto Mateu Sáez.

Attendance to ICT Event in Lisbon

Dr. Jon Legarda, principal researcher of DeustoTech-TELECOM, and Dr. Diego López-de-Ipiña, principal researcher of DeustoTech-INTERNET, attended to the ICT 2015 Conference which was held at the Centro de Congressos de Lisboa (CCL), Praça Industrias, PT-1300-307 Lisbon from 20 to 22 October 2015.

In such event, they had the chance to know first-hand the different objectives of H2020 for the period 2016-17, to participate in networking sessions and to attend to face2face sessions where contacts with potential partners in joint European proposal ventures can be formed. Janire Larrañaga participated in the 19th IEEE International Symposium on Power Line Communications and its Applications (ISPLC)

Janire Larrañaga participated in the 19th IEEE International Symposium on Power Line Communications and its Applications (ISPLC) held in Austin, Texas (USA) from 29th March to 1st April, 2015.

ISPLC has been running annually since 1997 as a worldwide forum for communications researchers and engineers to discuss issues relating to the use of electrical power distribution cables as a viable communication channel. An international meeting point for academics and industrial researchers as well as regulators, ISPLC now is the leading technical conference in the field of Power Line Communications (PLC) and the flagship event of the IEEE PLC Technical Committee.

She presented the paper entitled "An Experimentally Validated PRIME Subnetwork Simulation Model for Utility Applications" where a PRIME subnetwork simulation model that reproduces the behaviour of real networks is presented. In order to perform validation of the simulation model, real field data provided by Iberdrola have been used.

IoT Bizkaia 2013

The MORElab research group, from Deusto University, took part in a study about IoT (Internet of Things) planning in Bizkaia for the next few years. This study was accomplished by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia in collaboration with B+I Strategy.

The study was a success and the people from the organizing committee are confident in the initiative they will develop for the next year on the field of the Internet of Things.
